The Hood River Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a group of dedicated volunteers who use amateur radio to support emergency communications in our community. We are part of a nationwide network of ARES groups, all working together to provide reliable, independent communication during times of crisis.
Our mission is to provide emergency communications support to local, state, and federal agencies during times of disaster or other emergencies. We work closely with emergency responders, such as fire departments, law enforcement, and medical personnel, to ensure critical communications are maintained
Provide emergency communication messaging via analog (and digital when possible) transmission using amateur radio bands between
HRC EOC desk and OEM’s office in Salem,Oregon; and/or
HRC EOC desk and local participating assets (such as fire stations with working radios)
